Risen from the depths, La Prairie rose from the ocean floor to form a majestic island landscape which was born from a fault on the ocean crust due to the volcanic activities. Over hundreds of years the ocean corridor filled up due to erosion uniting the landmass to the mainland. This landmass which forms the La Prairie plateau is known as calcarenite which is a Limestone rock. The chemical component is Calcium carbonate and has many uses depending on the size and colour as shown below.
